China Alumina Production Increasing by 10.6% From January to October

The National Bureau of Statistics released the production of alumina in October, and the data shows that China's alumina production is 4.73 million tons in October 2015, increasing by 2.5% compared with the previous year; From January to October, the total production of alumina is 47.35 million tons, increasing by 10.6% year-on-year.

It is expected that in 2015, the annual output of alumina will be around 53.27 million tons, and  5.5 million tons of growth compared with the production of 47.7742 million tons in 2014, whose growth rate is of 11.5%. In May, in Huajin of Guizhou, there are 1.6 million tons/year alumina devices that come into production, and there are still new plan of the second phase of 1.6 million tons/year of alumina; Weiqiao alumina plant has expanded its capacity about 500000 tons/capacity in alumina plant in May. In late new expansion of alumina, Chinalco and Shenhua Group in Hebei plan to build 4 million tons of alumina project cooperation, whose total investment is of 10 billion RMB. The project's first phase about 2 million tons/year alumina project come into construction at the end of 2015 and will be completed and put into operation in 2016.

A manager called Yao Xizhi said: In 2016, under the support of new project, the production of domestic alumina will continue to increase, but the speed of growth has declined. The excess supply and demand pattern of domestic alumina will be further intensified. Yao Xizhi expects that the average price of domestic alumina is about 2100 RMB/ton in 2016, decreasing by 12.9% than in 2015.
