Brown Fused Alumina Export Sales Decline in May

Market mainstream price of dumping furnace aluminum oxide section sand in Henan Province is 4,250 Yuan to 4,450 Yuan per ton, and market mainstream price of fixed furnace aluminum oxide section sand is around 4,000 Yuan to 4,250 Yuan per ton. While the price for brown fused alumina has declined by 100 Yuan to 150 Yuan per ton for individual companies.

At the beginning of May, there was little market demand for China's domestic brown fused alumina, and manufacturers were forced to cut back production. Taking general costs, such as electricity price, transportation, and original costs, some companies took the marketing pattern by both import and self-production. Unstable customer group and tedious equipment resulted in the fact that most companies still put major emphasis on further processing projects of brown fused alumina section sand and fine powder. Currently, China's brown fused alumina manufacturers are located mainly in Henan Province, Shandong Province, Shanxi Province, and Guizhou. Most of them are medium and small companies that face fierce competition and high market transparency. According to an investigation, fixed furnace brown fused alumina has less advantages in refractory market competition, but it has unique effect in certain refractory materials.

Statisics from China Customs indicate that from January to March 2015, China's brown fused alumina export sales amounted to 134,427 tons. The sales value was 96,020,000 dollars, which declined 9.5% on year-on-year basis.
