Applications of Polishing Materials in the Polymer

We have benefited a lot from the applications of polishing materials in the traditional fields, but polishing materials have more use values that are worth us to develop. Some polishing materials made through coating and other surface modification treatment have high hardness, heat resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, workability and other features.

They have wide range of applications in sliding friction materials, electronic fixture for heat treatment, monocrystalline silicon pulling for heater, crucible silicon epitaxial growth for sensors, high temperature materials and other aspects. Polishing materials have been expanding the scope of its applications, and are identified as a landmark of new materials.

It is composed of wheels and consumable materials and has become new compound polishing material at home and abroad in recent years. It also possesses the advantages of organic polymer and inorganic materials. Ceramic has high hardness, high temperature, high strength, good creep resistance, good resistance to chemical corrosion and oxidation resistance, small thermal expansion coefficient, high heat conductivity and other excellent performances. It is a kind of material with wide application prospect under the condition of high temperature and high energy.

It can be used for the preparation of metal matrix, ceramic matrix and polymer matrix composites, and have shown excellent performance. In addition, it also has important application in terms of radar absorbing materials. It is reviewed about its application in the polymer in this paper. In recent years, we found in the study of polishing powder that the polymer matrix composites could dramatically improve its mechanical properties and thermal properties only by using a little rigid inorganic modification.
