Another "New Route" of Chinese Bauxite

Laos bauxite development project is referred to as Laos bauxite, which is a direct investment overseas solid mineral resources development project. It is expected that the total investment will reach about $600 million. The company is the holder of Laos bauxite mining and aluminum oxide production franchise.

The project started in 2006, and formally signed the contract about bauxite mining and aluminum oxide production in 2012, whose positioning end products is alumina (metallurgy grade). The mining area is about 44.17 square kilometers, and the type of ore deposit is the quaternary basalt weathering clay gibbsite-type bauxite. The proven reserve of bauxite is about 92.91 million tons. The ore deposit scale is large and has good quality, suitable for open-pit mining. Orebody will use strip mining, car transport and other ways. The mineral will be made into eligible ore pulp after crushing, grinding and simple water washing. They will be sent to alumina plant through pipes, and according to the mineral test report, alumina production choose advanced "Bayer Process".

This mining area is located in the southern area of Laos-Pakse province, which borders with Cambodia in the south, and borders with Vietnam in the east. It also goes across the Mekong river to Thailand. The transportation is convenient. Alumina plant is located at the junction of three provinces of Laos, about 4km away from the main road. 

Bauxite is scarce resource in our country, and the development of Laos bauxite can make up for the lack of bauxite resources in China. In addition, because Indonesia banned to export bauxite ore; Vietnam, Cambodia's bauxite are controlled by Vietnam; And there are still the higher alumina prices in Australia, high policy risk of India and domestic electrolytic aluminum production capacity has increased significantly. Laos bauxite is located in the southeast Asia, whose resources value will become more and more important, and development prospects are also optimistic.
