According to customs data, we learn that China imported 102600 tons of alumina in April, which is slightly increased by 7.49% compared with last year, but significantly declined by 71.5% than last month, and the imports also drop sharply about 257200 tons than last month. Australia alumina ratio rises to 95.1% from 42.6% last month. In the imports countries, India, Vietnam and Brazil's alumina imports fell sharply below one thousand tons in April, accounting for less than 1% of total imports.

In April, there are mainly two reasons for the large decline of alumina imports: First of all, the domestic alumina enterprises gradually restart production, and domestic supply is relatively increased; Secondly, in this alumina prices rebound, overseas alumina prices are higher than Chinese alumina, and domestic imported alumina prices drop away from the state purchasing prices. It is learned that there is no arrival of goods in Lianyungang in April, and so far, there are only two cargoes to the port.

Alumina imports and domestic alumina prices are relatively consistent in April, and the overall prices continue to rise. Western Australia alumina CIF prices released by the Customs Bureau of Statistics rise sharply by 14% than in March. According to SMM, Western Australia alumina FOB prices rose from $249 dollars/tons in early April to 257 dollars/tons by the end of the month, edging up 3.2%.
