Abrasives Standardization Technical Committee Delegation Attending ISO/TC29/SC5 39TH Annual International Standardization Conference

International Standardization Technical Committee and Abrasives Sub-Committee (ISO/TC29 / SC5) 39th Annual Conference of Standardization has been held on May 19, 2015 in Naples, Italy. Liu Yaoming, director of Abrasives Standardization Technical Committee, secretary-general Bao Hua and secretary Chen Xuewei as members of Chinese delegation attended the conference, which was conducted by ISO/TC29 /SC5 chairman, Geoff Clarke. 8P members attended this conference: Austria (ASI), China (SAC), France (AFNOR/UNM), German (DIN), Italy (UNI), Norway (SN), Slovenia (SIST), and Britain (BSI).

They discussed the 39th annual report on the work of the secretariat, and each work report of WG3 (Coated Abrasives), WG5 (Bonded Abrasives), WG7 (Abrasives), WG9 (precision Super Abrasives), review result of the current international standards and international standard proposal. All the delegations discussed and voted every item by item on the agenda of the conference.

Finally, 20 conference resolutions were passed. In addition, they confirmed the meeting requirements for the next conference (40th session).

Before the conference, the secretariat of Abrasives Standardization Committee contacted technical experts of P member in the ISO/TC29 / SC5 via E-mail and phone, and expressed the willingness that China wants to submit "Diamond Powder" international standard proposal and related main information of the proposal.

In view of this, they has added to China's plans to submit international standard proposals based on the original agenda. After discussing, the formation of the following decisions: because there is not enough suitable technical experts  in the ISO/TC29 /SC5 to undertake related work of the proposal, they need to contact enough technical experts and then determine how to carry out the proposal (e.g., to set up new working group).

In addition, at the invitation of Hermes Schleifmittel company, Liu Yaoming, director of Abrasives Standardization Technical Committee and other members, visited the coated abrasive production factory located in Austria. Chief financial officer (CFO) Johann Unterwieser, vice President of business development, Wolfgang Heidtmann, technical support supervisor Mr Franz Nebel of  Hermes Schleifmittel gave warm reception.

In the visit, the host introduced the overall situation of Hermes Schleifmittel , and accompanied to visit the production workshop of Austrian factory and the testing laboratory; Both sides made broad communication about the production technology of coated with abrasive, the detection technology, standards of enterprises and the application procedures and related requirements of OSA certification.
