A Visit to 2014 ASEAN (Bangkok) China Import & Export Commodities Fair

From Nov. 6 to 7, 2014, iAbrasive representatives, together with representatives of CMTBA Abrasive Product Makers' Sub Association, China Machine Tool & Tool Builders' Association, China Coated Abrasives Association, SINOMACH EXHIBITION CO., LTD. paid a visit to the 6th ASEAN (Bangkok) China Import & Export Commodities Fair, which lasted for two days in Bangkok, Thailand. Over 500 representatives attended the fair, more than 30of which were in the abrasives industry. During the fair, the delegation attended the opening ceremony of the grand fair, delivered speeches in China-ASEAN technical seminars of abrasives and abrasive products, welding, engineering and machinery, and paid a visit to Thailand CCS Group.

The ASEAN (Bangkok) China Import & Export Commodities Fair has received strong support from both governments of China and Thailand. The fair has been regarded as a bridge through which China's products are exported to Thailand and ASEAN, with striking features of high standard, large scale, and terrific result. On the morning of Nov. 6, the Chinese delegation attended the opening ceremony in the IMPACT International Exhibition & Convention Center, Thailand. There were six exhibition areas in total , machinery, agriculture, building materials, energy, investment, and medical treatment, covering an area of 10,000 square meters. However, only two of them were abrasives exhibitors.

In the afternoon, the delegation participated in the China-ASEAN Economic and Trade Forum and the China-Thailand Industry Association Summit. Representatives from both Thailand and China delivered speeches and conducted dialogue. In the evening, the delegation had dinner at Royal Jubilee.

On the morning of Nov. 7, the delegation participated in the China- ASEAN Exchange Fair concerning machinery industry cooperation and abrasives grinding technologies, welding, and engineering machinery. During the fair, the vice president of the Mechanical Chamber of Commerce of Thailand introduced the developing trend of Thailand's mechanical industry. Wang Mingyuan, president of China Coated Abrasives Association, made a speech titled An Introduction to China (Zhengzhou) International Abrasives & Abrasives Products Exhibitions". Chinese representatives and relevant industry leaders in Thailand exchanged their opinions.

In the afternoon, the delegation was invited by Ma Wenzhang, the vice president of the Mechanical Chamber of Commerce of Thailand, to Thailand CCS Group, which is a "one-stop manufacturer" with strong comprehensive strength. Its business scope cover precision machining, mold making, production of plastic packaging, and precision aerospace parts processing. In the factory, the delegation visited the CNC machine tools and assorted ceramic grinding wheels, resin grinding wheels, garnet for sand blasting and other abrasives and abrasives products.

The two-day trip was rewarding. Not only has the delegation learned about Thailand's culture and custom, but also people have gained a better understanding of the abrasives developing trend in Thailand, especially the abrasives and abrasives products in CCS Group, which were impressive. All the activities and communication have laid the foundation for China and Thailand's further cooperation.
