Sanding Paper Being Applied in Polishing 3D Printer

Sanding paper is a commonly-seen polishing tool. Of course, there are also some other polishing tools, such as flap disc and flap wheel, which are also quite important for daily polishing applications. Today we mainly introduce something about sanding paper.

Generally speaking, a coarse sanding paper takes silicon carbide (SiC), a quite hard material, as the abrasive media. Actually, sanding paper is categorized by the grit size labeled on the substrate: the greater the grit is, the more delicate it will be. Generally, sanding paper of 2000mm grit is able to polish a quite smooth surface. 

The theory also applies to creamy exfoliator we use to make our faces look more smooth and clean.

Sanding paper can achieve different polishing effects by taking abrasive material of different grit sizes. Generally, the larger the number labeled, the finer it will be.

With the aids of sanding paper and abrasive compound, we can polishing the car as smooth as a mirror.

Sanding paper has also been applied in polishing the model of 3D printing by wearing off the protrusions of the surface. However, we now have electric equipments to assist us, which can save the polishing time.
