ZS ALUNDUM ® is a proprietary, cast, fused alumina zirconia abrasive produced by St. Gobain Grains & Powders. It is a dense, exceedingly tough abrasive with very fine crystal size, due to the quick cooling it receives in Norton’s unique casting process. ZS Alundum consists of 25% zirconia. It has a very blocky shape with rounded, mulled edges.
Applications:
ZS ALUNDUM ® is a remarkably tough abrasive with maximum impact resistance, and is used principally in hot pressed resin bonded steel conditioning wheels.
