The black silicon carbide adopts silver sand and petroleum coke as the major raw materials, which are melted in electric arc furnace in high temperature. The crystal is in black color with the micro hardness up to 2800~3300Kg/mm2. The grinding tools made with this material are fit for processing metals and non-metallic materials with high tensile strengths, such as gray cast iron, brass, aluminum, stone materials, leather, hard rubber, etc. It may also be used in making fire-resistant materials and in electronic industry, etc.
