The Spearpoint Carbide Drill Bit, first introduced to the glass industry over 60 years ago, is designed for use with portable or stationary drill presses. Do not use with a hand drill. These drills produce clean, precise holes in glass, mirror, marble, vitrolite, china, tile, ceramics and composites. Excellent for drilling in most plastics, including Plexiglas. Keep drill cool with a lubricant such as turpentine, kerosene or soluble oil. All drills are split-pointed to avoid drill wacking and extended life. Spearpoint drills are not true drills at all, but actually are scraping tools and, therefore, should be used at low speeds only. (See chart below for proper speeds)
