Company Introduction

Flexovit USA cut the ribbon on a brand new abrasive wheel manufacturing facility, located in western New York State, during the summer of 1977.

In April of 1995 the Flexovit USA plant received ISO 9002 Certification for its quality system, the first such certification for a North American abrasive wheel manufacturer.

In July of the same year the factory was struck by fire, resulting in an almost complete destruction of the manufacturing areas. Reorganized into a multi-disciplinary rebuilding team, Flexovit staff worked around the clock to construct an interim manufacturing facility. The first product was made and shipped within 8 weeks of the blaze.

By spring of 1998, finishing touches were being put on Flexovit’s new plant. The manufacturing complex was doubled in size, incorporating 100,000 square feet between two buildings. It includes the first fully automated bond mixing system in North America, expanded and improved press, packing, and shipping departments, upgraded fiberglass coating and cutting lines, enlarged lab and product testing areas, a state of the art training center, and an engineering department for development and fabrication of proprietary manufacturing processes and equipment.
