Who Is Bridgeport?
Bridgeport has been a leader in the machine tool industry since 1938, when we revolutionized the industry by inventing an extraordinary milling machine with a revolving turret that moved the head from one end of the table to the other. This machine, the Series I Standard, offered unheard of productivity and versatility at a price that every machine shop could afford.

Over the years, Bridgeport has continued to set the standard for milling machines, as well as expanding to provide many more machining solutions. The Bridgeport name is known and respected worldwide for the design, development, application, sale and support of CNC machining centers. We are a leading manufacturer and marketer of CNC vertical, horizontal and five axes machining centers.

In 2002 Hardinge Inc. moved the production of the famous Series I and EZ Vision Bridgeport knee mills to its headquarters' in Elmira, New York, under a licensing agreement. Two years later Hardinge Inc. acquired the Bridgeport brand and took over design and development of the entire line of CNC machining centers and mills. Now as part of the Hardinge Inc. family, Bridgeport will continue to grow with innovative and productive milling solutions.

As an ISO 9001 certified company and a former Baldrige Award finalist, Hardinge has a century-strong commitment to customer satisfaction. The company began trading shares on the NASDAQ stock exchange in 1995, and we have steadily expanded the depth and breadth of our products in Turning, Milling, Grinding and Workholding, through strategic acquisitions and global diversification.
