From modest beginnings in 1979, PIECO (Product Improvement Engineering Co.) was started in a two car garage in Manchester, IA. Almost 35 years later, what began as a humble one-man operation has since grown into a world renowned business within the meat processing industry. Today, PIECO offers a full line of rotary surface grinders, circular blade sharpeners, involute blade sharpeners, and multiple arm knife sharpeners designed especially for the meat processing industry. All are designed to enable your operation to have consistent product, while efficiently controlling plate inventory and sharpening costs through in-house sharpening.

While initially focusing on the meat processing industry, in recent years, PIECO has expanded into industrial accounts. Our rotary surface grinders can be easily customized for industrial applications and are currently in use in the U.S. Mints, airline and automotive industries (clutch, brake rotors, and fly wheels) and manufacturing industries.

PIECO INC has built its reputation on providing a wide variety of high quality products and services, while focusing on developing products to improve quality, efficiency and profit margins. Our latest invention is the patent pending PIECO Bone Elimination and Meat Reclaim Separation Unit, designed to reduce the potential for bacteria growth and contamination. Our continuing commitment to address consumer food safety concerns has been the driving force behind this revolutionary product.

In addition, we are one of the largest full service SPECO distributors. We work directly with SPECO to develop new products such as customized meat and pizza topping plates. We can configure bone collection and reclaim systems specific to your applications.
