The diamond extender either with, water, oil or alcohol base can be applied by squirt or spray. The type of diamond extender to be used will depend on the material to be polished. The extenders maximize the cutting action of the diamond product and maintain an even dispersion of the diamond abrasive over the entire polishing cloth. An alcohol base extender is recommended for high stock removal rate, requiring a high cooling. A low viscosity extender is used for low cooling and low stock removal.
